So here is my weekly Shopping List(I will spare the household items unless they are interesting:)

Costco:

1 bag Avos
1 pkg eng cucumbers
tub of Organic spinach
Organic Hummus snackers
1 Organic cereal
bag pistachios, black bean chips and freeze dried fruits for kids snacks
Organic frozen peas
Food Storage item of the month: 1-2 bags of Organic Quinoa

Good Earth:

Org Leeks
Org celery
Org carrots
Org unsweetned Silk for CharLee since he likes it once in a while rather than our Coconut and Almond choices, I also buy Raw Milk from Real Foods once in a while for my Hubby.
Spelt buns in case we do veggies burgers in Park City
10 pkg seas gift seaweed snacks and 8 organic raw cashew coconut bars for the Luvs snacks
Raspberry Granola
Org Pumkin seeds 1 lb
sunflower and alfalfa sprouts
Almond cheese shreds
Org Eggs
Org Sprouted Tofu
Org green apples
tub of raw Almond butter
Organic black beans and garbonzos

So every week I try to keep my budget for food at $200 and then $50 for household needs and Food Storage. I feel I have tried so hard over the years to make eating clean as affordable as possible and for our Family of Five this has been our budget, your might be a little different. I think when it comes to trying to be self sufficient and take care of your own health it does cost a little extra but I do think it does even out in the end because we rarely go to the Doctor:)GoodLuck and let me know if anything thing else would be more helpful.

What's for Dinner Tonight?

Well I have physical therapy tonight at 5pm ,so on these nights I have to prep my meal around 2:30pm. Remember to do the best you can at buying organic Smiths has a pretty good selection, Costco and Good Earth. The Organic clean 15 and dirty dozen list will help with proritizing and keep cost down. So I decided to make:

Quick Blender Veggie Soup and Avo Mac

Blender Soup
Combine in Vitamix or blender
1/2 inch slice of yellow onion
1 garlic clove
1 red bell pepper
handful of spinach and cabbage
1 carrot
1/2 C cauliflower
2 toamtoes
2 stalks celery
2-3 Tbs real or celtic sea salt
1/4 C olive and 1/4 C flax,hemp borage oil
1 tsp cumin
dash of fresh rosemary (this is a warming spice to make you feel cozy in the winter)

After putting ingredients into blender fill the rest with good alkalizing water and blend until smooth. Optional:I also added some hemp seed, sprouted tofu and avocado for some good protein content and chopped kale and dehydrated veggies at the end to give it some bulk:) Blend well and then put into a pan and keep on lowest warm until you are ready to serve. This soup is fast and yummy only takes about 15min.

Avo Mac

1 box Quinoa shells
1 mashed avocado
1/6 C good oils
1/4 C almond/ coconut milk
salt and fresh lemon to taste
at times I do add some fresh raw goat cheese if I have it.

Make noodles according to box, drain and drizzle oils, milks and seasonings. Enjoy!

Raw Moma's Blog

So my good friend Jaryn started the cutest cooking blog.As I think of going back into some nutritional counseling, I thought her idea was such a great way to help people even more. So here is my attempt...I will try to blog each week my shopping list and where I go to get the items, my menu plan and even some food storage ideas. I don't know if it will be helpful....I just hope this way I can give without taking more time away from my little ones. I will also try to give tips on snack and lunch ideas for your littles. Be patient as I am not perfect and will be slow at times but will attempt to help where I can. I know how hard it can be to mother with all we have on our plate and want to feed yourself and your family well at a resonable price. So here we go:) Thank you Jaryn for your inspiration and example of an amazing friend and mother.
